- RAM: 4 GB
The following operating systems have been tested to work with Chimera:
- Windows 7 or newer

FAQ
I've been asked numerous questions, repeatedly, throughout Chimera's development. Here are some common
questions that people have asked me:
-
Q: How do I install Chimera?
A: Back up your strings.dll file. Extract the contents of the .7z file to the Halo Custom Edition folder.
For opening .7z files, 7-Zip is a good program for this.
-
Q: Is the retail version of Halo supported?
A: No. Only Halo Custom Edition is supported.
-
Q: Is 1.09 (or older) supported?
A: No. Only 1.10 is supported.
-
Q: Is HAC2 or Open Sauce supported?
A: As of Chimera version 1.0, no.
-
Q: Is HaloMD supported?
A: No.
-
Q: Does interpolation support frame rates other than 60 FPS?
A: Yes. Although the interpolation feature has been (incorrectly) called "60 FPS" such as with SPV3, this
feature does not inherently require the game to be running at 60 FPS. In fact, it can work at frame rates
lower than 30 FPS, too, though playing at such a low frame rate is not recommended. It can also work at
frame rates not divisible by 30 or 60, too, such as 144. Chimera has an frame rate throttler if you want
to take advantage of adaptive refresh rate monitors such as FreeSync or G-Sync displays.
-
Q: Does Chimera automatically update?
A: No. Due to how poorly this is implemented in mods as well as security concerns, I have elected to not do
automatic updates. See this website for the latest version of the mod.
-
Q: Why am I getting an error about signatures?
A: You may be trying to use Chimera on an unsupported version of the game or with an unsupported mod. Note
that Chimera does NOT support HAC2. If this does not apply, please report the issue.
